What does Molenaar Agriculture do about sustainability?
Solar panels: The roof of our barn is covered with 488 solar panels to meet our own power needs.
UV lighting: The rinser, boiling kettle and evaporators of our cold rooms are equipped with UV lighting to naturally reduce mold and bacteria.
Green manure: a green cultivation as soil improver before we plant the peony cuttings.
Bokashi: a natural method of fertilization, a way to convert organic residues into a rich soil conditioner.
Hoeing machine: To reduce the use of pesticides, we have a trailed hoeing machine. This allows us to apply weed control mechanically.
Global GAP certified: This certification promotes the use of good agricultural practices and makes it clear to consumers that the company produces food with a minimal environmental impact by using fewer chemicals and being sensible about human and animal safety and health.
