During the month of February, we worked with Molenaar Agriculture to create a Bokashi silage. Bokashi is a mixture with goat manure and cattle manure. We covered this heap with potting soil. The heap will remain until September after which it will be spread over the peonies with our wide spreader.

Bokashi is the Japanese word for "well-fermented organic material." Food scraps such as peelings, stumps and leftovers, as well as garden scraps and manure with straw, are organic materials that can be fermented. Anything goes, as long as it is fresh.
